Typographic Interoperation of Signs and Symbols story

The International Literacy Association

Brief:

The ILA is publishing a series of short stories to encourage people to read. These will be distributed to libraries and issued free of charge. Choose one of the accompanying short stories and interpret it typographically. Your aim is to draw the reader into the story and make the reading an enjoyable and immersive experience.

Solution:

I choose to interpret typographically the short story "Signs & Symbols" by Vladimir Nabokov and aim to draw the readers into the story and make the reading an enjoyable and immersive experience. I wanted to express the true nature of the book, as the book is centered around a severe mental debility of a young man and the struggle of his elderly parents to cope with it. Misfortune being the dominant theme of this book which I was focused on and after an in depth reading of the book, I wanted to express all the emotions within the story to capture the readers attention and answer maybe some of the unanswered questions in the book for the viewer.
